If you miss the bus, do you give up and go home or wait for another one? (Anonymously written)

If you miss the bus (an opportunity), do you give up and go home (stop trying) or wait for another one (chance)? (I love interpreting things wrongly).

The bus conductor calls again for the final pickup, this time in a much louder voice. People walk up and down the busy streets of opportunity; some don't pay the shiny, glowing bus any mind, some are invited on specially by the bus's escorts, who diligently shield them from the downpour of distraction with their gold-lined black umbrellas, and some are like me, pushing and shoving past other folks merely to get a seat on the bus.

Opportunity's streets are funny that way, you see glamorous, black n' gold buses the higher ups let free litter the stretching street sparingly; perhaps just 2 or 3. I've often heard that if you ride on one, it's like a magic carpet nearly- ride home's smooth, a whole bunch of fancies sitting about, talking loads with us commoners. Some of 'em even get people for hire, I hear; some of my own good pals as well.

Bit embarrassing, but I'm the only one of my mates who've never gotten a seat. Sure, Opportunity street's got others- sturdy, firm buses; gets you where you need to alright- but it's the cushion-y chairs 'n chilly air conditioning that gets me, 'y know?

Some things gone and happened today as well, especially after dashing through the rain while other people walk straight in without a single thought. Rain's gone and gotten me drenched too, all up to my boots. Nothing I can do, but I can't say I don't mind it; I was so sure the chance would be mine.

Oh, I suppose I'll just catch another one.
